Card Designs

Card Design Henna Flower Oil pastels

This week I designed some cards using some of my oil pastels. For some of the cards I drew some basic (henna styled) floral patterns, I did this in both landscape and portrait. As for the middle card in the picture above. I outlined a large flower in the middle of the card with a pencil  then using red, yellow and orange I coloured it in.

The card below is a henna design.

White Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

white chocolate cheesecake

Last week I made a chocolate cheesecake, I followed a recipe that my mum uses but I did it with white chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It was yummmmmy and we all enjoyed eating it. Here is the recipe that I used to make this delicious cheesecake.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tub of cream cheese (300g)
  • 1 packet of  digestive biscuits (300g)
  • 2 large white chocolate bars (200g each)
  • Butter (100g)
  • A few drops of vanilla essence

Instructions:

Step 1: Crush the digestive biscuits
Step 2: Melt the butter
Step 3: Mix the butter with the crushed biscuits
Step 4: Place the biscuit mixture into the cake tin (I used a heart shaped flexible mould)
Step 5: Place the tin into the fridge to cool and set the biscuit
Step 6: Mix the cream cheese with the fork
Step 7: Add a few drops of vanilla essence into the cream cheese
Step 8: Snap the chocolate into small pieces and melt (leave some for sprinkles later)
Step 9: Mix the cheese and chocolate together
Step 10: Place the chocolate/cheese mixture on top of the biscuit base
Step 11: Decorate the top with sprinkled chocolate (I used a cheese grater)
Step 12: Place in the fridge to set

Crochet Phone case

Minecraft Crochet Phone Case Tutorial

This week at SLH crafts I have been making a crochet phone case . I have made the case with a character from the online game 'Minecraft' called a creeper.  Me, my brother and my sister love this game as it is fun, but is also educational which keeps my mum happy. A lot of homeschooled kids also play this game. So I thought to myself, I like Minecraft and I like crochet... soooooo lets make a  Minecraft crochet phone case!

Minecraft Crochet Phone Case Tutorial

I made my own pattern for this, first making a printed grid, 29 down by 14 across and then making the design for the creepers face. Then I used single crochet stitches in green and black wool for the front and then just green wool for the back piece. Lastly I joined the two pieces together with the same green wool to make the case.
