I recently made my sister a doll's wardrobe and decided to make some more stuff for her dolls. So I decided to make some slippers for her dolls. Here is how I made them.
Requirements:
Craft Foam or Felt
Small soft hair bands
Needle and thread
Scissors
Instructions:
Step 1: Draw a template of the dolls foot. Then extend the drawing slightly as the photograph shows.
Step 2: Using the template cut out a piece of foam for the base of the slipper.
Step 3: Attach the large hair band to the foam sole - sewing around the edges.
Step 4: Then place this onto the dolls foot and then sew the front part of the hair band together making the front of the slipper. See photograph above.
Step 5: Using the smaller hair band, sew this to the foot opening part of the slipper.
Step 6: If you wish to add extra decoration then sew onto the front of the slipper, I like to add bows or bobbles onto the front.
Step 7: Repeat these steps for the second slipper to make a pair.
The photograph above shows some of the other designs I have made using the same technique.
Here is where I got my inspiration from and a video that helped me understand how to sew these slippers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pWGtS-n3Ec
