Alice in Wonderland Crafts

I have been busy lately on a crafty project. There was a local creative competition to celebrate 150 years of the book Alice in Wonderland. Both me and my sister entered our designs. I decided on doing a teacup design similar to one in the movie. I had to work on different pieces of work and then put them together to make the final piece.

Step 1: I designed the 'Drink Me' bottle. I used a small glass bottle that you can find in most craft stores and filled it with a blue liquid. I used blue facepaint and water mixed together. Then I made a handmade 'drink me' card and placed it on the bottle.

Step 2: Then using FIMO clay I made the Alice in Wonderland figurine.

Step 3: I then decorated a plain white tea-set I already had.  I used a pink sharpie pen to design the cup and then heated it in the oven.

Step 4: I used a spoon and bent it slightly and then glued all the pieces onto the cup and saucer.

My little sister made a canvas design which she also entered into the competition. The photo is below.

Clay Modelling

I have been busy doing some more clay modelling using my FIMO clay I had at home. I had a look on youtube to get some ideas on how to make these shoes. I tried a few different colours. I am still undecided which colour I prefer.

My Craft Studio

I have been so busy for the last month preparing my craft studio.  If you have been following my posts you will have seen my projects. I have been putting together desks and storage and doing a lot of painting including the walls. The walls were originally yellow with patches of other colours. I chose to paint 3 walls white and have a feature wall in Teal. I have done all this on a very small budget so most of the furniture has been donated or from charity shops at bargain prices. I still haven't finished the room as there are still a few other things I need to do including another desk to cover the fireplace but I am not going to rush this so I thought I would do a grand reveal now as so many of my followers have been asking to see the finished result. I really hope you like my room, I can't wait to start doing my crafts in this room.

I tried taking photos around the room in a circle so that you can try to imagine looking at it all in one tour.

Below is a collage of the before photographs.

The now finished room photos.

Please look at my previous posts to see the transformation take place.

sofa makeover

If you are following my posts you will know that I now have my own craft studio. There was already an old orange fabric cane sofa in the room which I thought would be worth keeping to relax on. I decided to give it a makeover so it looked better in my studio.

I bought a large purple throw to cover the whole sofa which already made a huge difference and matched the purple furniture in the room. I then bought some cheap purple flowery cushion cushions from a charity shop which had a hint of purple in them. I then wanted some Teal coloured cushions which were not  easy to find cheap, however I found a Teal coloured fabric shower curtain in a charity shop and asked my mum to make some cushion covers with it. I got 3 cushion covers from the one shower curtain and recovered the orange cushions, the colour matches lovely to the teal already in the room.

I now have a lovely sofa to relax on in between my crafts now. The room is nearly finished, so hopefully I will be able to do a post with the grand reveal soon.
