Embellishbox Papercutting

I have recently had a go at papercutting. This is the first time I have tried this craft. My mum was sent an Embellishbox which had a few designs in and I decided to have a go at one of them myself.  I didn't quite complete the full design, which had a cut design around the circle.  I do like the way it turned out and I put it in a nice white frame.

Here is the link to the blog post that my mum wrote: http://www.karimascrafts.com/2016/11/embellishbox-review.html

Painted Candles

I have been busy making more painted candles to gift and to sell. I have tried lots of different designs and different types of candles too.  I then gift wrap them up ready to gift. Below are some photos of the candles wrapped up and ready to sell on a craft table event I did recently. I also had on display some of my Sea Glass necklaces too.

Henna Designed Candles

I have been busy recently designing candles with henna. i did a different design on each candle. I am hoping to gift or sell these soon. It has been quite a while since i have designed some candles. I think the last ones I designed were with acrylic paints.

The photo below shows the candles I have done before as Eid gifts.

Latest Sketches September

This month I started Art College so I don't have as much time for my own things but I am hoping that I will be learning new art techniques and can share with you photos of these.

Today I am sharing some sketches that I have done this past month. I really like the dragon one.

Origami Dragons

I have been practising some more origami. This time I was using my lovely paper to make dragons. I watched a few video tutorials to get a good idea.

Eid Henna Designs

I was at a homeschool meet up during Eid so I decided to do some henna designs on my friends, both young children and parents.  I used 2 different types of henna paste for these designs.

For Eid I also did some designs on my own hand and my mum's hand too for Eid.

Coke Bottle Cozy

I have been busy crocheting again. This time I decided to make a cozy for a coke bottle. I know it may seem crazy but I just love the shape of the coke bottle. I made this at a small crafty club I have just joined.

Fruit Art Flowers

I decided to make a work of art out of some fruit. I looked on YouTube and followed a video showing how to cut your fruit into a flower shape.  I used a peach, a pear and a strawberry for this project. It looked too pretty to eat, but it was eaten eventually.

Fairy Garden Tutorial

My little sister made a lovely fairy garden last month so I decided I would have one too.  I didn't colour in the Fairy House as she did, I actually like the natural wooden look.

Items needed:

Gardening container
Fairy House (actually a bird house)
Wooden doll furniture
Bark and pieces of wood and twigs.
Toy animals
Flowers

All I did was place the fairy house into the container as it was. Then I added a wooden seat. Then an inkwell to make a small well.  Twigs were added to make a garden decoration. Some animal erasers were added to the garden.  Very simple but effective.

Below is the fairy garden my little sister made, she spent more time by painting the house in lovely bright colours and using a larger container.

Hair Designs

Wow, it has been nearly a year since I shared any hair designs that I have done. I normally style my sisters hair every week and to be honest I never get around to taking that many photographs anymore. I even experimented with chalk paint for hair on my little sister. Sorry the photographs are not very clear, I will try and take some better photographs next time.

I will share a few I have done recently and then share some photos from past posts at the bottom of the post.

Custom Skateboard Bag

I recently board a Penny Board type skateboard.  I have really enjoyed going out and and practicing on it. I wanted to be able to attach it to my bag so that I had my hands free when not using it.  So I got my crafty thinking mind working.

I simply used hair bands attached to my bag, which I then attached to the wheels of my skateboard.  I tied to bands together and fastened one end to the bag and used the other to wrap over the wheel. I did this on both ends of the bag.

It works brilliantly and my bag is the perfect size for this.

Below are some photos of me using my new board.

I even tried it on the beach!

Art Exhibition

This week I was very fortunate to have my artwork featured in a local Art Exhibition. The painting that was chosen was the Owl painting that I recently did using watercolours.  I blogged about that previously. http://www.slhcrafts.com/2016/04/owl-painting.html

My younger sister also had one of her pieces of work chosen for the exhibition too.  We both got to meet the Mayor and Mayoress of the City who chatted to me about my art interests.

A close up of the painting that was in the Exhibition.
